    The French and Indian War was a War fought between England and France over the Ohio River Valley as well as the trade. Native Americans fought on the French side though England won the battle.
  • The Proclamation of 1763

    The Proclamation of 1763 is whenever the British government limited the colonists from moving West of the Appalachian Mountains. This was to make an effort to relief tension with the Colonists and Natives.
  • The Sugar Act of 1764

    The Sugar Act of 1764
    The Sugar Act of 1764 was a first attempt by the British to control the movement in the Colonies (within the Appalachian mountains). Meaning the British were limiting what type of Sugar the Colonists could buy and sell.
  • The Stamp Act of 1765

    The Stamp Act of 1765 is whenever the King was taxing the colonists for a way to make money back from the French and Indian War. The British needed the colonists to obtain stamps for newspapers, letters, magazines.
  • The Boston Massacre of 1770

    The Boston Massacre of 1770
    The Boston Massacre is whenever the King of England was taxing the colonists after being in debt after the French and Indian War. The colonists were outraged so one day they got snowballs with sticks/rocks and started throwing them at the British soldiers
    so the soldiers shot at the colonists. It was then on the newspaper and the colonists were pronounced as non- guilty.

    The Tea act of 1773 was when the British did not allow the colonists to buy any other tea but only the one specific tea that the King wanted to make money off of. The Reasons why he wanted to make the money off of that one specific tea was because he was in debt after the French and Indian war so he started taxing the colonists with the specific tea.

    The Boston Tea Party 1773 was when the Colonists disguised themselves as Native Americans to dump tea into the Boston Harbor to the response of the Tea Act. The reason why they dumped tea into the Harbor was because the British did not allow the colonists to buy any other tea but only the one specific tea that the King wanted to make money off of.

    The Intolerable Acts of 1774 was a response to the Boston Tea Party. The British punished the colonists by closing the Boston Harbor and restricted the town meetings.
  • The Battle of Lexington and Concord of 1775

    The Battle of Lexington and Concord of 1775
    The Battle of Lexington and Concord was the first battle of the Revolution. The British troops had gone out to the colonies to get supplies of gunpowder and ammo. Paul Revere (man on the lookout for colonists) warned the colonists about the British coming when he was on his ride to Lexington.

    The Olive Branch Petition was a letter written to the King from the colonists to have an agreement with England to desire peace with England. The colonists wanted peace with England because they wanted to avoid/stop war. Though the King was insensitive about their offer so the war continued on.
