    Proclamation of 1763
    This proclamation did not allow colonists to settle west of thr Appalachian Mountains. The British government feared the conflict between colonists and Native Americans would lead to another war. They also could not afford to pay British troops to defend the western lands. Colonists were enraged by this proclamation because they felt they had won thre right to settle in the Ohio River Valley after winning the French and Indian War.

  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    Parliament passed this law that requiered all legal and important papers to have a stamp. The stamp shows they paid their tax. Some colonists didnt agree and was furious. They thought it was unfair to pay another tax
  • Townshend Acts

    Townshend Acts
    The townshend acts suspended the assembly until the New Yorkers agreed to house the troops. They put tax on glass, paint, lead, tea and other goods. The British use the Writs of Assistance to enforce the acts.
  • Tea Party & Tea Act

    Tea Party & Tea Act
    British taxed the tea for the colonists. The colonists did not agree. They planned to protest the tea tax. They went on the ships and dumped the tea off board. This way of protesting became known as the Boston Tea Party.

    The Intolerable Acts close part of Boston until colonists pay the taxes of the over thrown tea. They ban committes of correspondence. It also allow Britains to house troops whenever and wherever necessary. Last Britains Officials were allowed to be accused of crimes to stand trial and Britain.

    Lexington and Concord was were the war started. The first battle to lead for the Revolutionary War. In this battle the British won. Now the actual war has begun.

    Olive Branch Petition
    Americans send this petition to the Britains king asking harmony between Britain and colonies. The King rejects the petition and blocks ships from leaving their ports. He also sends more troops to fight in America.
  • Declaration Of Independance

    Declaration Of Independance
    On this day Continental Congress adopts the Declaration of Independance. This proclaims the Independance of colonies. They have rights that the government cant take away and of government disreguards these rights, it looses its right to govern. The people can also form a new government that will protect their rights.
