The Enlightenment was when the philosophers started to include logic and reason into government. I rate this a 9 because it was an important part the delevelopment of the new government.

The French and Native Americans fought against the British because the British wanted to take over French land. I rate this a 4 because England ended up taxing the colonists to pay off the debt they were in to pay for the war.

The British forbade colonists from settling passed the Applachian Mountians to avoid conflicts with the Native Americans. The colonists ended up ignoring this rule. I rate this event as a 4 because the colonists ended up ignoring this rule.

The Stamp Act was tax on goods that everyone had to pay. The stamps had to be located on every printed document. The colonist did not like this idea therefore they began to boycott. The British then took away the act. I rate this a 3 because they only killed 5 colonist and took away the act.

The Boston Massacre occured when off duty British soldiers came into conflict with some local colonists. They got into a physical fight and 5 men died. The Sons of Liberty used this event as propoganda for more colonists to go against the British. I rate this event as a 7 because this was a large event used to help a group go against the mother country.

The Boston Tea Party was when a group of colonists called the Sons of Liberty dressed up as Native Americans and rebelled against the tea tax passed and threw over 1500 boxes of tea into the harbor. I rate this event as an 8 because the colonists had the nerve to rebell against an act.

The Tea Act was a new tax the British put on for the colonists. I rate this a 3 becuase this was just another tax added to everyones list of dailey taxes.

The Intolerable Acts were three new acts created to punish the colonists for the Boston Tea Party. They were no trial by jury, quartering act, and blockade of Boston.

Representatives from most of the colonies came together to talk about the Intolerable Acts in Philadelphia. Together they wrote a letter to King George the third to repeal these acts. I rate this event as an 8 becuase this was the first time that members from the colonies came together to complain to the king.

The British troop were on their way to Concord when they were confronted by a group of colonists farmers and miltia members in Lexington. Although they were defeated, they tried to attack again. After being defeated twice, many New England colonists still volunteered to fight. I rate this event as a 10 because this is the first action the colonists took in literally fighting for their freedom.

Written by Thomas Jefferson the document stated that the thirteen American colonies had the right to become idependent. I rate this a 7 because it finally seperated them.

The Second Continental Congress was when the representitives from the different colonies met to discuss and write and write a declaration for their independence. I rate this a 5 because its important that they met and discuss about how to get freedom.
