  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    French and British went at war. In 1763 the British defeated the French and got most of their land. The Spanish got some of the French's land in return for Florida.

    The Proclamation of 1763
    King George said to the colonists that they could not settle west of the Ohio River Valley.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    Tax on sugar and molasses created by England to pay for the French and Indian War. The colonisted didnt like it so they made up a slogan saying "No taxation with out Representation". Boycotted and smuggled taxed goods from the West Indies.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    A special tax repuired for stamps, legal documents, newspapers, dice, cards, ect. Unfair to the colonists because they had no say in the Parliment. They boycotted and sent petition which caused lots of violence.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    Forced colonists to provide a house for British Soliders. the colonists were outraged and they thought this violated their rights. Alot of people refused and violence struck the British Soliders.
  • Townshed Act

    Townshed Act
    Tax on imports like glass and paper. It allowed British Officers to used Writs of Assistance to search colonial ships for smuggeld goods. Again the colonists were made about taxes and the unnecessary searching the British Soliders did. It violated their rights.
  • Bostan Massacre

    Bostan Massacre
    A group of colonists that swarmed around British Soldiers in an angery mob causing them to fire at the colonists.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    The British repealed all other acts except the Tea Act. The Tea Act taxed tea from the West India Co. Although the other taxes were repealed. The colonists were still angry about the Tea Act.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    Because of the tea Act, colonists boycotted taxed tea and since no one would buy the tea from England, England sent over a shipof tea to the Boston Harbor and demanded the colonists to pay the tax on it. The colonists refused but before the English could enforce it, the Sons and Daughters of Liberty dressed as Mohawk Indians and threw all of the British Tea into the Boston Harbor.

    Reps. from each colonie went to Pennsylvania, besides Gerogia to discuss what Britan has done to Boston.The idea was first born by Benjamin Franklin in 1773 but it failed to gain much attention and agreement. in 1774 the colonies stopped trading with England.

    Intolerable Acts
    This event was a punishment to Massachusetts for the Boston Tea Party. They bamnned town meetings, closed Boston Harbor, and until the tea was paid for there was a new Quartering Act. Other colonies supported Massachusetts and they held the First Continental Congress. The colonists were outraged and they felt that these punishments are a way to harsh.

    It was the first battle of Revolutionary War. It started when "the shot heard around the world" was fired.
  • Paul Revere's Ride

    Paul Revere's Ride
    Paul Revere saw two lanterns in the church so he warned the people that the British Regulars where coming by sea. Billy Dawson and Sam Prescott also joined him.
