Who: Colonists and British troops Where: Massachusetts When: 1770 What happened and why: British soldiers open fired and killed 5 colonists after the colonists provoked the British troops. How is this a cause that led to war? This led to war because the colonists were angry at the British for killing 5 people. -

When was it enacted: May 1773 How did it affect the colonists? Colonial merchants were not allowed to sell Tea. How is this a cause that led to war?: This led to war because it caused the Boston Tea Party. -
Boston Tea Party
Who: Sons of Liberty Where: Boston Harbor When: December 1773 What happened and why: Several of the Sons of Liberty dressed as Native Americans and poured 342 chests of tea into the harbor because Great Britain passed the Tea Act which only allowed British owned East India companies to sell Tea to the colonists. Outcome/effect: The outcome of this was that it caused a lot of money to be wasted. -
Cause eight Intolerable Act
Who:King George the Third Where: Throughout the Colonies When: 1774 What happened and why: King George wanted to punish the colonists because of the money that was wasted during the Boston Tea Party. How is this a cause that led to war? This led to war because colonists were mad at King George the third for punishing them.
