  • Cause 2: Proclamation of 1763

    Who did it affect: the 13 colonies When: 1763 What did the Proclamation do to the colonies?: it prohibited colonists from settling west of the Appalachian mountains How is this a cause that led to war?: the colonists were upset that they could not expand moving west and increase territory
  • Cause 3: Sugar Act (1764)

    When was it enacted: 1764 How did it affect the colonists? It made it so the colonists could only get sugar, and molasses from the British How is this a cause that led to war?: the new England colonies were upset because they couldn't buy cheaper sugar or molasses from other countries, so there rum was more expensive
  • Cause 4: Stamp Act (1765)

    When was it enacted: 1765 How did it affect the colonists? It taxed them more for stamps How is this a cause that led to war?: the colonists got upset because stamps were taxed even more
