    End of the French and Indian War
    (French and Indian war site) The French and Indian War was very expensive and put Britain in debt, which caused the British to tax the colonists, which upset the colonists very much.

    The Proclamation of 1763 was intended to keep citizens from moving west into new land. This upset colonists many thought this was unfair and just simply ignored it. British issued this because they did not want to have to send troops to protect colonists against native americans that lived in these new lands.

    The sugar act was a ltax on sugar that was passed by parliment. These taxes on sugar upset the colonist even more this tax was given during an economic depression for the colonist and this made them very angry. Colonists were less upset that they were being taxed without representation and mor upset about the time these taxes were given which was during a depression.

    The Boston Massacre was a event in which 5 people were killed by british soldiers. A british soldier and a colonists got into a fight and one thing lead to another and a mob ended up sorrunding 8 british soldier the british soldiers fired and killed 5 colonists. Colonist were outraged about this and wanted these soldiers icluding captain preston to be punished.

    The boston tea party was an event in which the sons of liberty dressed as mohawk indians dumped all of the tea from a british ship into the water. The British goverment punished boston by issueing a new quertering act, also they closed the boston harbor until the tea was repaid. Colonists thought this was unfair and called for a meeting of all the colonies called the first continental congress.

    The Intolerable Acts were a set of laws that were created as punishment for the boston tea party. The intolerable acts were a new querting act, and also britain closed down the boston port until the colonists agreed to pay back the damages for the tea.

    The First Continental Congress was a meeting held by 12 representitives of the 13 colonies. The meeting was held to discuss how to respond to the Intoelerable acts. The colonists decided they wanted a repeal on the intolerable acts, also they decided to train militias.

    Paul Revere's Ride was a event in which paul revere and two other riders Sam Prescott, and Billy Dawes went for a ride warning colonists that the british were marching to concord to seize weapons being stored there. Because of this ride minute men were able to get ready to defend the weapens.

    Lexington and Concord marked the begging of the war. British troops were sent to take over a storage of weapons in concord. American Malitia met the british troops at Lexington and the war began. The british retreat back towards boston and the colonists ended up suprisingly defeating the british in this small skirmish.
