Proclamation Line
After the British has claimed victory over french territory, they made a settlement line that forbid anyone to past a line drawn along the Appalachian Mountains. and if you do so you will be in serious trouble. -
Stamp Act
tax was imposed on all American colonists and required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used. documents, licenses, newspapers, were taxed. -
Quartering Act
To force local colonial governments to provide provisions and housing to British soldiers stationed in the 13 Colonies of America. and the colonists did not like it at all cause they didn't feel responsible to give them housing. -
Declaratory act
Parliament's authority to pass laws that were binding on the American colonies. and it also repealed the stamp act of 1765 -
Townshend Acts
a series of laws which set new import taxes on British goods and imposed duties on glass, lead, paints, paper and tea imported into the colonies. -
Boston Massacre
this happened between some colonists and the red coats. the colonists were mad and started to throw rocks covered in snow and one man got closer and was shot and the others went crazy and 3 more ended up shot and Paul Rivera painted a picture and named it the "Boston Massacre" -
Committee of Correspondence
the house of burgesses proposed that each colonial legislature appoint a standing committee for intercolonial correspondence and the aftermath was other colonies had all joined a network and committees started to form. -
Tea Act
this granted the British East India Company Tea a monopoly on tea sales in the American colonies. and the colonists were angry because the Act would give the East India Company a monopoly on tea sales in the colonies. -
Boston Tea Party
The Sons of Liberty along with Samuel Adams dressed up as Mohawk Indians and boarded three ships in the Boston harbor and threw 342 chests of tea overboard. this also pushed the two closer to war. -
Intolerable or Coercive Acts
this was made to give punishment to the American colonists for the Boston Tea Party and other protests. and they took it to the extreme and forced British tea down peoples throats to get their point across. -
"Shot Heard Around the World"
it was the beginning of the battle of lexington and both soliders were staring at each other and waiting for the first shot. The first shot was fired but no one knows who made the first shot till this day. -

written by Thomas Jefferson and states how colonies have overthrown their ruler and chosen to take their place as a separate nation in the world.
