  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    England and France battle over the Ohio River Valley with the Algonquin and Iroquois Indians. English and French were fighting over the river valley for trade with the Indians and they fought and the French lost all of there land.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    All colonists got banned from settling west of the Appalachian Mountains. They fought over the land and now they are able to settle there. The colonists moved anyway.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    Britain was in debt so they taxed the colonists on sugar, molasses, and other things. Colonists were angry so the smuggled goods into the country.
  • Stamp Act

    Colonists had to buy stamps, newspaper, ect. People are getting taxed for no reason and colonists demanded the tax to be repealed.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    Required colonists to house and feed British soldiers. Some could barely take care of themselves and now they have to take care of and extra person. Some colonists refused to let them in.
  • Townshend Act

    Imports such as lead, tea, glass, ect, were taxed. British custom officials searched ships. People had to smuggle good into the country so they didn't have to pay extra for the imports needed.
  • Boston Massacre

    Colonists are angry at Britain because of the taxes and it’s their fault for the loosing there jobs. People started rebelling because they were very angry. Britain fired and five people were killed. Colonists were very angry, and they started to rebel.

    The tea must be directly from British East India Co. Tea is still taxed and colonial tea merchants are put out of business. The Started the Boston Tea Party.

    90,000 pounds of tea in 342 containers were thrown overboard. 116 people participated. The tea that was destroyed would be worth about $1 million today!

    Boston Harbor was closed until tea was paid for. Trails are all held in England so people were guilty. Town meetings were banned. The Quartering Act strengthened. Colonists saw it as an annoyance, Britian saw it as a punishment.
  • Paul Revere's Ride

    Paul Revere's Ride
    British come to Concord to search for the militia’s weapons. The Sons of Liberty relocate the weapons. Billy Dawes warns that the British are coming. Paul Revere goes to see if the British are coming by land or water. One lantern lit means land, and two means water. The British lit two lanterns so they are traveling by water. Paul Revere starts his ride to inform the redcoats are coming. Revere and Dawes get captured near
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    The first shot of the Revolutionary War, “The shot heard round the world!” included 60 colonists vs. 100’s of British soldiers in the battle. 8 colonists were killed and 10 were injured. The British got to Concord at 9 o’clock and there were no weapons. The British decide to head to Boston. The malitia are prepared this time. While the British are heading to Boston the malitia block there path and begin to open fire on the British. The British start to retreate and the malitia keep firing.
