    Who fought on each side (don’t forget the allies): French with Native Americans vs. British Colonies (British Government) Where (territory-can be general) :North America When (dates: year to year): 1754-1763 Who won the war: Britain and France How is this a cause that led to war?: The war costed a lot of money and King George III decided to get money back by raising taxes for the colonies

    Who issued it: The British Who did it affect: The 13 colonies When: October 7, 1763 What did the Proclamation do to the colonies?: It forbade the colonists from buying land / making agreements with the natives How is this a cause that led to war?: It made the colonists desire good farmland and others just resented Britains rules and rebeled against them

    When was it enacted: April 5, 1764 How did it affect the colonists? It increased tax on sugar How is this a cause that led to war?: The colonists needed the sugar
  • Cause 4: Stamp Act

    When was it enacted: March 22, 1765 How did it affect the colonists? Any paper they used had to have a stamp (tax) How is this a cause that led to war?: The Colonies protested because Britain was trying to profit from taxing paper

    When was it enacted: March 23rd, 1765 How did it affect the colonists? They had to house the British soldiers and feed them How is this a cause that led to war?: The colonists had to pay taxes for the housing of the British

    Who: Colonists (rebels) and British Where: Boston, Massachusetts When: March 5th, 1770 What happened and why: Colonists were protesting and the British opened fire on the crowd killing 5 How is this a cause that led to war? It made the colonists despise the British more

    When was it enacted: May 10th, 1773 How did it affect the colonists? It put taxes on essential goods How is this a cause that led to war?: The colonists boycotted British goods
  • Cause 8: Boston Tea Party

    Who: Colonists (rebels) and British Where: Boston, Massachusetts When: December 16th, 1773 What happened and why: The Sons of Liberty dressed as Mohawk natives, boycotted British ships full of tea and dumped them into the Ocean Outcome/effect: Boston ports were closed
