    The stamp act was to raise money for new military force. Stamped paper or affixing stamps were taxed. This made people very mad and in 1766 they took law into there own hands and started a boycott.
  • Seven Years War ends

    Seven Years War ends
    The Seven Years War, also known as the French and Indian war, ended in 1763. Great Britain won the seven years war and peace was declared through the Peace of Pairs. Which then ended the French power in North America. Ohio Valley tribes lost a powerful ally in France. Therefore they lost their ability to counteract English colonial intrusions into their territories.

    The sugar act was a tax on sugar to stop the smuggling trade of sugar. Which this was very effective! The sugar act was the first tax on the American colonies imposed by the British Parliament. Colonists were very angry, they started to protest. After a while protesting started to die down.

    The Quartering act was an act to let soldiers/British troops into anyone’s home to provide them food and and shelter if there was no room for them in barracks's. Colonists were not happy but could not refuse to let the soldiers live there.
  • Townshend Acts

    The colonists were very upset and tired when they started to get taxed for sugar, paper, and more. Colonists started to refuse any taxes without representation because they saw that the acts had been a abuse of power. They began to smuggle in tea that was much cheaper.
  • Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre was a clash erupted between the Red Coats and the British soldiers. This started because colonists that were protesting started throwing snow balls at the British soldiers, then they started throwing rocks and bricks. Someone had yelled fire and the British soldiers took fire. The first person to die was a black man named Crispus Attucks.

    The Boston Tea party was about 100 Bostonians, that’s were very mad because of taxation without representation, disguised as Indians and boarded ships of tea. Then, disguised they smashed open 342 chest of tea then threw them into the harbor. This protest caused the port to become closed and no people or goods could come In or go out.
  • The Battle of Lexington and Concord

    The Battle of Lexington and Concord
    The Battle of Lexington and Concord was when a British commander in Boston sent troops to seize stores of gunpowder. Paul Revere and William Dawes set out on horseback from the city to warn Adams and Hancock and rouse the Minutemen because the British troops were on there way. The troops marched from Boston to Concord. Red coats were ambushed and suffered a heavy loss.
  • First Continental Congress

    First Continental Congress
    The First Continental Congress was a declaration Congress. Delegates from each of the 13 colonies except for Georgia came to Philadelphia to organize colonies refusals to the parliament acts. The outcome of this was that the Congress had the colonies stop importing goods from the British Isles if the Coercive Acts were not repealed.
  • Valley Forge

    Valley Forge
    Valley Forge was when George Washington sent his troops to valley Forge for 6 months, to establish the encampment. On there journey they faced some hard times. They ran out of supplies including food and any goods, suffered from many sicknesses like influenza and small pox, and were harsh winter. Although they were struggling by the end of the six month they had more faith and courage thanever. They defend the British troops and won America’s independence during the rest of the 5 years.
