The French and Indian War
It began in the Ohio River valley. George Washington was in charge of this war and he wanted to win this war. They both found different native allies. And the French won at first but it didn't last long. The British ended up pulling out the win. -
The Proclamation of 1763
This was a British produced boundary mark around the area of the Appalachian Mountains. This definitely angered the colonists. It was a setting to keep them control under the strict rules of England. And because of this law most or if not all of the colonists wanted to rebel against this law. Therefor many colonist ended up dying and passing away. -
Sugar Act
It reduced the amount of molasses from colonists so they didn't pay as much tax on those types of goods. It also retained a high duty on different foreign refined sugar. And prohibited the importation of all foreign rum. So it reduced certain goods but only to increase higher demand goods so those higher demand goods would be taxed more. -
Stamp Act of 1766
It was a parliament act of Great Britain which directed tax on different British colonies. And for them to require to print different materials. It imposed a direct tax on colonists. Started in the fall of 1765 and it ended up having to tax printed goods and paper and things that you can write and draw on. -
Townshend Act of 1767
It was four different laws based off of how the taxes on the colonists were actually doing. And it was to exert authority over the colonists and what they choose to do and who they choose to follow. -
The Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a street fight in the streets in Boston. It was between the Patriot mob and the British soldiers. Only five people died so people don't know why it was called a Massacre. The patriot mob was angry and was throwing snowballs and other objects such as rocks. And the British soldiers ended up killing 5 of there very own people. -
Tea Act
They raised the taxes on different types of tea and it ended up being way more expensive to purchase tea and for them to make money off of the tea. The act granted the company the right to ship its tea into England. So back then tea was very hot and people always bought it so it was smart to start making a lot more revenue off of the tea. -
Boston Tea Party
It was a political protest and it was on December 16 1773. And American Colonists were frustrated and mad at the British for Taxation without representation. And they ended up throwing overboard a bunch of tea because Britain was taxing tea like crazy. So these colonists went on a rampage and showing there anger and frustration. -
Intolerable Acts
The Intolerable acts were acts that the British government made for there version of "punishment". They made these Laws or acts after the Boston tea party, when people started to rebel and throw out there tea that was being taxed on. The laws were made to punish those who were involved in the throwing overboard tea. -
1st Continental Congress
It was a large discussion to decide if Britain would separate and claim other land. And if the leaders of America would step forward and claim there so beloved land. And so forth several of years later America was ratified there very own country. And they ended up parting ways with Great Britain and making America, America!
