    An age of "thinking" when ideas were presented about the human way of living and how it should be done. Philosophers helped create an insight into the way we live. Rating: 6 Ideas from the enlightenment helped shape the government we have today and many of the ideas are in the constitution.

    French and Indian War

    American conolists and Britain fought against the French and the Indians. It was a territorial dispute, the French claimed they owned the land, the Indians claimed it was their land because they had been settled on it for hundreds of years. England gained land and influence, France lost much of both. Rating 7: This was the first major war we see in the colonies and it leads to Britian gaining almost total control.

    PictureThe proclamation forbid colonists from moving to the west of the Appalachian mountains to make sure there were no disputes over land between colonists and Indians. Rating: 3 This was one of the first rebellions we see from the colonists but it played no huge role.

    Picture The stamp act was imposed by the British on colonists and it put a tax on all printed documents that had to have a stamp. Rating: 4 This act led to some anger in the colonists but had no major impact.

    PictureThe British army killed 5 colonist protesters and injured others. This enraged colonists and the Sons of Liberty used it as propaganda to turn the colonists against the British. Rating: 5 The actual event was not a huge deal but the propaganda that it led to helped fuel the rage of colonists.

    PictureThe tea act was put in place by the British king and it imposed a tax on the colnoists for all tea imported to them. Rating: 6 This act led to great anger in the colonists and created the Boston Tea Party.

The colonists rebeled by dumping tea over ships, into the Boston Harbor to show that they would not follow the new tax. Rating: 6 This event clearly displays the rising anger of the colonists and leads to the intolerable acts.

Rating: 6 These acts led to anger among colonists which could have kick started the Revolutionary War.

    PictureA convention involving delegates from 12 of the colonies in response to the Intolerable Acts. A petition was sent to the British king and a boycott was set on all British goods. Rating: 5 The only impact it had was the idea of the Congress, their actual plans had no effect.

    PictureThe first military engagement of the American Revolutionary War. British troops were enroute to destroy what they thought to be American military supplies which in actuality did not exist. Rating: 8 Though the colonists lost it still had a big significance on the American Revolution.

    PictureA group of delegates from 12 of the colonies that managed the war effort during the American Revolution and moved the U.S. towards becoming independent; eventuallly adopting the Declaration of Independence. Rating: 10, these meetings led to the United States becoming independent from Britain and helped the American Revolution war effort.

    PictureThe Declaration of Indepence was written by Thomas Jefferson and was put in place by the Continental Congress. It stated that the United States would be free from British rule and that it would be it's own nation; which includes governing itself. Rating: 10 This document is what made the United States independent from British rule.
