    Let British soldiers move in a house to rest. However the colonists did not like it either since it still went against the English Common

    A law passed that put a tax on all official documents. This was considered a threat since it violated one of the rights of the English common law
  • The Townshend Acts

    The Townshend Acts
    Was a series of acts to help gain Money that Britain had lost. Once again the colonists protested since they had not been informed about it.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
    British soldiers massacred many colonists. Given all the unfair acts it was reasonable to protest.
  • The Tea act

    The Tea act
    A tax given on tea. Many just ignored this tax
  • The Boston Tea Party

    As a result of the Tea act the colonists decided to protest by throwing boxes of tea into the sea
  • The Intolerable Acts

    After seeing the colonists rebel so much British decided to pass a series of acts. This was an attempt to make the colonists behave.

    A meeting held in Philadelphia. It ended in both Declaration of rights (Issued the loyalty of the colonies to Britain) & The Articles of Association (The boycott of all British imports if the Coercive acts were not token away).

    Battle of Lexington and Concord “shot heard ‘round the world”
    British troops went on a mission to seize American leaders and guns. Someone had resisted and shoot which was followed by a trail of other shoots thus beginning the war
  • The second Continental Congress

    The second Continental Congress
    This was the last attempt to restore peace. They came up With the Olive Branch Petition however it was completely ignored
