  • Hitler Decides to Invade Austria and Czechoslovakia

    Hitler secretly meets with his top military advisers to discuss that if Germany were to prosper, it would need the land of its neighbors. His ideal plan was to conquer Austria and Czechoslovakia. Despite rising tension between Hitler and his advisors about the possibility of starting a war, Hitler concluded that Germany could only prosper with brute force.

  • Germany Takes over Austria

    German troops march into Austria with no opposing forces, Austria was mostly consistent of Germans anyway so they simply formed into Germany. Nobody did anything about this, most likely due to the fact that there was no conflict.
  • Countries Become Weary of Hitler

    With the eagerness to avoid war, the British Prime Minister and French premier Edouard Daladier signed Sudetenland over to Hitler. Hitler claimed this would be his final territorial demand now that German had enough space and was big enough for everybody to live.
  • Hitler Takes Over Czechoslovkia

    Hitler had not finished expanding the Third Reich and on this day German troops flooded whatever was left of Czechoslovakia and by the end of the day Germany had attained more land. Afterwards, plans began stirring about conquering Poland.
  • Hitler Strgetizes on Taking Poland

    Hitler began charging Poland with the mistreatment of Germans trying to persuade the world into giving Germany the Polish land they wanted. Even though this could have started a war with Poland’s neighboring country, the Soviet Union, Hitler did not care and continued bashing Poland for this alleged mistreatment.
  • Germany and Poland Sign a Pact

    Hitler was able to sign a nonaggression pact with Stalin to prevent any war spurring from the conquering of Poland, giving Hitler a green light to take it over and expand the German Country. Additionally, Poland would be split for Germany and the Soviet Union in secret, the possibility of a war was eliminated.
  • Germany and the Soviets take Poland

    Over Poland, German pilots dropped bombs all over Polish military bases, airfields, railroads, and cities while tanks came in provoking panic and unrest to the Polish. This was Germany’s first test of their newest military strategy, the blitzkrieg, the advancement through brute force and opposition against the country they wanted to take over.
  • France and Britain Declare War

    After watching how Germany totally invaded Poland, France and Britain both declared war on Germany, however the blitzkrieg strategy worked almost too good. The major fighting was over in just three weeks and France and Britain couldn't set up defense before then, and with the Soviet Union coming at them from the other direction, Poland didn’t exist by the end of the month. World War II had officially begun.
  • Hitler Unleashes a Surprise Attack

    Hitler suddenly attacked Denmark and Norway in order to build military bases along the coast to attack Great Britain next. Afterwards, Hitler invaded and conquered the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg, all gone by the end of May.
  • France Falls to Germany

    The Nazis invaded France and now occupy its northern land while a Nazi-controlled government would be set up in the southern parts of France. France practically fell to Hitler at this point.
