    Hitler Fights in WWI
    Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated, sparking the beginning of WW1. Hitler enlisted in the Bavarian Army, and his regiment saw its first combat in Ypres. In October 1916, Hitler was wounded by an enemy shell, and in October 1918, he was temporarily blinded by mustard gas. He was awarded two Iron Crosses for his bravery.

    Germany Surrenders: Treaty of Versailles
    . Germany was forced to sign the Treaty of Versailles by the Allies. This was extremely unfair to the Nazi party, especially since under this treaty they had to accept the fact that the start of the war was their fault, when in fact, it was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand that started the war. This event brought anger to many of the German people, especially Hitler.

    Hitler joined the German Workers Party in 1919, started in Party's Executive Committee. Over time. Hitler gave speeches and the attendance of these meetings grew larger, into the thousands. By the end of 1920, the party had 3,000 members, and the name was changed to the Nazi party.

    Beer Hall Putsch. This was Hitler's attempt to overthrow the Weimar Government and replace it with a Right Wing Nationalistic party. Hitler told three High Ranking Officials in the Bavarian Government that he would offer them positions in his new Government. This was after he threatened to kill them and himself. Hitler was later injured on a march to overtake Munich in a fight between the Nazis and the German Police. Hitler was later found in a friends house and arrested.

    “Mein Kampf”, or “My Struggle” is written by Hitler while in jail. This book talked about the superiority of the Aryan race, and how Jews were the destroyers of the world.

    President Hindenburg appointed Adolf Hitler as the Chancellor of Germany. This happened after Army General Kurt von Schleicher resigned as chancellor, 57 days after he started.
