The Nazi party began before this date but was very small. It wasn't untill this date that they had a party meeting with two thousand people in attendence. This is when the party truly began. Hitler was certainly the leader of this group. -

Hitler was becoming more and more powerful by the second. After leaving Munich for a matter of days, there was a revolt among the Nazi party. This made people realize that the Nazi party was nothing without Adolf Hitler. So, he was soon elected as Fuhrer of the Nazi party in a landslide. -
Beer Hall Putsch
There was a government meeting in a beer hall with three important senators. Hitler and his men from the SA stormed into the beer hall with weapons pointed in every direction. He took the senators into the back room and forced them to make him and the SA into the Nazi party. -

Hitler is tried on this date and he is found guilty so he is also sent to jail on this date. Although, he seems to be treated well in jail because he got a spacious cell, gifts, visitors whenever he wanted, and a personal secretary named Rudolf Hess, who later wrote the book Mein Kampf for Hitler. -

The novel Mein Kampf is all about Adolf Hitler's life and ideas. It also talks about Hitler's youth, his early days in the Nazi party, his future plans for Germany as a whole, and his ideas on polotics and race. -
Stock Market Crash
The stock market on Wall Street in New York City crashed because their profits were down by 80%. Because of this, the demand for goods was down as well since the citizens felt poor due to their loss of money in stocks. This soon led to little finance in new investments becase nobody was buying anymore stocks. All of these problems led to the Great Depression which is one of the darkest times of our nation's history. -
Hitler Voted Chancellor of Germany
Hitler being voted chancellor was one of the most important days in all of German history. "I will employ my strength for the welfare of the German people, protect the Constitution and laws of the German people, conscientiously discharge the duties imposed on me, and conduct my affairs of office impartially and with justice to everyone," This is what Adolf Hitler stated when he was sworn in. Clearly he broke his promise. -
Hitler Becomes Dictator of Germany
Hitler begins his road towards dictator when he is elected chancellor three months prior to this date. And only several days before this Hitler had Hindenburn sign two decrees saying that any Nazis in prison could be released and that anyone critizing the government can be arrested. -
Nazis Elected to Reichstag
With Hitler as the Nazi's chancoller there was no way that they could lose the election. The Reichstag fire occurred only five days before the election. This greatlky reduced the KDP's popularity. Obviously it helped out the Nazi party causing them to take the majority of the vote. -
Burning of the Reichstag
A man from Holland named Marinus van der Lubbe was the person most at fault for the Reichstag building catching fire. It is said that around 9 pm he ran into the building, lit his shirt on fire, and used it as a torch to light up just about anything he could. Obviously he succeeded. Also, some of the Nazi storm troopers were involved in torching the building.
