  • The French and Indian war start

    The French and Indian war start
    The French and Indian war started over the conflict of rivers and waterways, primarily the Ohio river valley. The fighting was brutal and lasted 9 years.
  • French and Indian war End

    French and Indian war End
    The french and Indian war ended with the treaty of Paris. The french lost and lost all land in the new world and Spain claimed the land with britian gaining land and the river valleys.
  • The proclamation of 1763

    A rule passed by Britain that prohibited the colonists of settling west
  • The sugar act

    One of the first acts passed to decrease the debt from the french and Indian war. It was a law that attempted to curb the smuggling of sugar and molasses in the colonies by reducing the previous tax rate and enforcing the collection of duties.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
    Incident in Boston where multiple colonists were shot and killed after they started a mob and harassed soldiers on King street.

    The Boston tea party
    A group of colonists from Massachusetts disguised themselves as Mohawk Indians and attacked 3 British ships that were docked and dumped 342 chests of tea into the river after the taxes got so bad the colonists started to revolt.

    The intolerable acts were 5 punishing acts that parliament imposed on the colonists because of the Boston tea party.
    The first was The Boston port act
    The second was the Massachusetts Government Act
    The third was the Administration Justice act
    The fourth was the Quartering act
    The fifth was the Quebec Act
    The first 4 were all meant to punish the Massachusetts bay colony but the Quebec act was meant as a threat if anyone followed them.

    This made it to where the colonists couldn't get things they needed and they couldn't trade so it also furthered tensions between the 2 continents.
