    The Battle of Lexington
    700 British troops were traveling to Lexington to find and capture Patriot leaders. On their way they ran into American minute men. While having a stare down a shot was fired starting the battle and soon after starting the war. As a result eight Americans were killed along with ten wounded. The British suffered one injured solder.

    This battle basically woke up the americans to realising that they were dealing ith a big and experianced military fore but unfortunatly we suffered.

    This battle isnt known as very big battle, the failuer of the British in this battle to take the port forced them to take controle of places further up north.

    The British were trying to Re-group with their troops in Albany but US troops intersepted them and prevented the British from getting through the lines. This was a big turning point for us and it also encoraged France to help our cause. After the second battle at Saratoga the British surrenderd the battle as a defeat.

    At this point the British were starting to get a lil cocky mainly because they had been able to crush a lot of American militia, but as you know pride comes before the fall.

    The sudden defeat of British forces killed their momentum making them more vulnerable to American forces, also as an American victory it spiked their spirit bringing the war to an end soon after.

    Surrender at Yorktown
    The commanding General realised that he and his army would never stand a chance against the Americans and the French so he attempted to escape. While trying to do this his base was surrounded by Americn forces and by sea thanks to the French. He was forced to agree with the Americans terms and surrendered peacfully.

    Even tho the military forces of the British surrendered, the government didnt recognize the US as a seperate nation. Finally on September 3rd, 1783 the British agreed to let the Colonies have their independance at the Treaty of Paris.
