  • French and Indian War

    The French and Indian war started because the French wanted to expand into British territories. This is connected to the American Revolution because the war debts from this war was the reason that the British started taxing the American colonies.
  • Treaty of Paris 1763

    The Treaty of Paris 1763 was signed to end the French and Indian War. It forbade the colonists from settling west of the Appalachian Mountains. Ths angered the colonist and had part in starting the Revolutionary War.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    The Proclamation of 1763 was a law that limited the colonists from moving west of the Appalacian Mountains. This angred the colonists and led more people to want to revolt against England.
  • Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act was taxes placed on sugar and molasses. This made the colonists even angrier and took part in the starting of the Revolutionary War.
  • Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre was when a group of British soldiers fired into a crowd of unarmed people. This also had part in the Revolutionary war because it angred the colonists even more.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party was when colonists got together and dumped thousands of dollars of tea into the ocean becasue they were mad at the British for taxing them. This led to the American Revolution becasue after this the British were even harder on the colonists and this made the colonist want freedom from the British.
  • Intolerable Acts

    The Intolerable Acts were a set of rules that were in place after the Boston Massacre. They were there to punish the colonists. This had a part in the Revolutionary War because it angred the colonists even more.
  • Olive Branch Petition

    The Olive Branch Petition was a petition that asked King George III to reunite with the colonies. He declined, and therefore started the Revolutionary War.
  • Common Sense

    Common Sense was written by Thomas Paine in 1776. It was a pamphlet that encouraged the colonists to revolt against Britain. This helped the Revolutionary War because most colonists wanted to revolt after reading it.
  • Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence was a document that declared the colonies free from England. This led to the American Revolution because England wasn't going to let them have freedom with just a peice of paper.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    The battle of Saratoga was a battle in the revolutionary war. It was a turning pont because it was the first war that the Americans won.
  • Treaty of Paris 1783

    The Treaty of Paris 1783 was the document that ended the Revolutionary War.
