  • Proclamation Line

    Proclamation Line
    The proclamation line was a boundary for the colonists seperating them from where they can and can't settle. The line went through the appalachian mountains. Most of the settelers did not enjoy this line because they had already started building homes past the boundary. When the British laws said to leave their house and go back across the line they refused to obey. The reason is, is because the indians already own the land and the British don't want to have to go to war because of the colonist
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The stamp act is when the british king puts taxes on printed items such as, magazines,newspapers, and books. The reason is, is because the king has to pay for his troops all around the world.
  • Boston Massacare

    Boston Massacare
    The Boston Massacare took place in Boston. Here British troops were sent to watch the colonists to make sure they were following the laws. When a mob of settelers came and threw rocks and other objects at the soldiers. They also insulted them by saying things like, redcoats. So the British Soldiers responded by firing their weapons. 5 colonists died as well as 6 others being injured. Two soldiers were convicted of manslaughter. The colonists will now think of the British in a different form.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The colonists were really furious at the king now. He has now put tax on tea and the colonists do not like it. So one night they dress up as Indians and throw a bunch of tea into the boston harbor.
  • First Continental Congress

    The first continental congress was a convention of delegates from the 12 colonies ( not Georgia). This is where the delegates met to talk about how they should respond to the intolerable acts.
  • Patrick Henry Speech

    Patrick Henry gave his inspiring speech starting with the lines Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death. The speech had changed the way colonists had felt about the war.
  • Battle of Lex. Concord

    The battle of Lexington and Concord is the first actual battle between the British and the Patriots. The British came down to the colonists and were prepared for war. They had tooken some of the colonists weapons, and had gaven them to other British soldiers. They had marched and fired at the colonists, and the colonists had fired at them. While the British were marching back the colonists caught up and attacked the British then beating them.
  • Declaration of Independance

    Here the founding fathers and all the congress had gatherd to decide wether or not to approve the declaration of independence. They had all agreed to pass forward the declaration and had gaven it to the British.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Battle of Saratoga
    The battle of Saratoga is considered to be the turning point of the war. This is when the continental army had beaten the British after they had lost many of the other battles during the war. This is also the reason why the French had agreed to help the continental army against the British.
  • Surrender at Yorktown

    Surrender at Yorktown
    This is where Lord Cornwallis had surrendered to the continental army meaning the the American Revolution had been over. The reason for his surrender is because the French had cornered the British with the Continental army so the British had no where to go and they were also outnumbered.
  • Signing of the Treaty of Paris

    Signing of the Treaty of Paris
    The British and the Americans signed the Treaty of Peris. The treaty was signed to show that Great Britain Respects that the United states of America is now it's own nation. The treaty also showed how big USA was.
