Sugar Act
Set duties on molasses and sugar imported by colonists. -
Currency Act
The colonists suffered a constant shortage of of currency with which to condust trade. Many of the colonists felt no alternative to printing their own paper money in the form of Bills of Credit. -
Stamp Act
This act required colonists to pay for an official stamp, or seal, when they bought paper items. -

Under the terms of the legislation, each colonial assembly was directed to provide for the basic needs of soldiers stationed within its borders. -

This was the first battle of the Revolutionary War. It ended in minutes with only a few volleys fired, The British were froced to retreat to Boston. -

A famous conflict that was actually launced at Breed's HIll. The British won with a tragic victory. -

The British failed to use their powerful navy effectively during the war. The American troops seized the main supply fort on the island. -

The Battle of Saratoga in New York was the turning point of the Revolutonary War. It was the greatest victory yet for the Americans. -

Washington and his men had very few supplies. Many with no shirts or shoes. Washington and his men had won. -
Battle of Yorktown
The Batlle of Yorktown was the last major battle of the American Revolution, and the Americans had won. -
Treaty of Paris
Great Britain recognized the independence of the United States.
