    • The war started in Ohio Valley, when George Washington was sent there.
    • British were sent to America
    • The French dominated in the war at first but after altering their strategy and better leadership the British were able to win the war.

  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    • Increased the duty on sugar imported from the West Indies
    • Colonists protested this Act.
    • The duties were eventually lowered a significant amount after the colonists reaction
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    • A number of colonists gained up on a group of 10 redcoats
    • In self defence the redcoats opened fire without orders from the commander.
    • Paul Revere reacted by creating a famous sketch that was put in the newspapers. It showed all the redcoats in a line fireing their guns at the same time with the commander instructing them to do so. He tried to make it look like the British were the bad guys.

    Discussed seperating completely from the British.
    Eventually they finally broke free on July 4, 1776
