    French and Indian War
    During the French and Indian War the British and the French wanted control over the colonies. This happened because of their demand for land and causes them to fight agressivly towards the colonies. The French and Indian war lead to the British passing the proclamation limiting the colonists land. Also the war caused for the Americas to be in large debt. The stamp Act followed this war.

    The Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was when the British parliament taxed the colonies in North America. one of the reasons they did this was to pay off the debt they acumulated after the French and Indian War. The colonies reacted by boycotting dice, playing cards and legal documents that they taxed and there were also riots. The Boston Massacre followed.

    The Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was before the colonists new about the taxes leaving, so the colonists were still protesting and there were still riots. The British forsce fought back because they had recently lost the Stamp Act and needed to show the colonist that they still had the control. Their reaction was that John Adams said he would defend them in trial. The Tea Act and the Tea Party followed the Boston Massacre.

    The Tea Act/ Tea Party
    the Tea Act was when the last of the Townshend Acts was passed in 1773. It was passed because Britan wanted to help the Britis East India Company get out of debt. The colonists reacted by boycotting all tea. Then in the same year The Bostin Tea Party was organized by the Sons Of Liberty who dressed up as Indians and dumped tons of tea into the Boston Harbor. Because they felt like they needed to take a stand. The Intolerable Acts followed the The Act and Tea Party.

    The Intolerable Acts
    The Parliament passed the Intolerable Acts. This happened because the colonists were unhappy. They responded by having The First Continental Congress meet in Philadelphia. Delegates form 12 of the 13 colonies went to talk about the things they were unhappy about. The Shot Heard Round the World.

    The Shot Heard Round the World
    Some Minuet men gather on the Lexington town green to face the British Someone fires a shot this is the "Shot Heard Round The World". This happeded as a result to the intolerable acts. The Colonists ar affected because 8 colonists are killed. The Second Continental Congress followed.

    The Second Continental Congress
    The Second Continental Congress served as the government during the American Revolution. They were necesary for taking care of money, handling the army, and establishing comities. The colonists reacted and they all agreed on organizing an army. The Olive Branch Petition followed.

    The Battle of Bunker Hill was when 10,000 American soldiers gathered together in Boston to gian a strong stand agianst Britaish troops. This battle was another resoult of the war. The colonists just ended up in more debt and having to run away. Then Tohmas Paine published "Common Sense".

    "Common Sense"
    Thomas Paine published "Common Sense" critizing George III and spoke agianst the King completely. He published this because he wanted to help the colonists and incourage them. The Colonists reacted and took Paine's advise and won the war. The Declaration of Independance followed.

    The Declaration of Independance was the last part of the List of Grievances. The list was made to give examples of why the colonies wanted to be their own country so in the last paragraph they explained that. This impacts Britain now because they can't take in money by taxing the clonists. Help form over seas is where the colonies shearched for help next.

    1777-1778 In Valley Forge PA there was 11,000 not very fed, clothed, or housed. Many people were sick so once the wonem back home found out they sent food and medical supplies some women even went to provide as doctors or cooks. Many soldiers died from the cold winter at Valley Forge. After Valley Forge the war widens.

    Help From Overseas/ French Alliance
    Not long after the battle at Saratoga France agreed to support the Americans and help them gain independance. France did this because they saw a turning point in the war and wanted to weaken Britain. So they formed an alliance with the United States. This made it eisier for the US and helpped them alot. Valley Forge came after the French Alliance.

    Congress voted to have a Navy but could build only a few ships. Americans became good at making attacts but then running away. They wanted a Navy to be able to fight more Britich ships before they got to land. The British reacted by sending more battle ships and that is why we got the privatiers to stop them. British Advance followed.

    Durring the Final Battle the British General, Cornwallis made a huge mistake that cost him the war. he tried to attack the Colonists soldiers from three ways but his plan failed. The British reacted and threw their weapons into a pile on the ground and surendered. The Treaty with Paris followed the Final Battle.
  • Treaty Of Paris

    Treaty Of Paris
    The Treaty Of Paris was when Britain reconized that The US was now independant new boundaries were set and Florida was returned to Spain. Britain responded and on April 15, Congress approved the Treaty and the war was over. Years of peace as a independant country followed.
