The Royal Proclamation was a document made by the king that forbid any movement west of the Appalachian mountains. -

The stamp act started in 1765 to make up for the troops they sent to the colonists, and the british just taxed a lot of stuff. -

The Townshend Taxes enforced taxation on items such as paint, lead, paper, and tea. -
Boston Massacre
After a crowd of boston colonists were harassing the red coats, one of the red coats were pushed down, then got up and shot into the crowd, once the gunfire started others joined in. 5 Colonists were killed, 2 red coats were released from the army, the colonists were very pissed and started having the idea of rebellion. -
The Boston Tea Party
Colonists went onto the ship dressed as indians and dumped all the tea into the ocean. Possibly lead by Samuel Adams and John Hancock. -
The Intolerable Acts
They were the coercive acts with a different name, they just were an attempt at keeping the colonists in line. -
The first Continental Gongress
55 delegates from 12 colonies, Georgia did not go. Main people: John Adams, Peyton Randolph, George Washington, Charles Thompson. Philadelphia, in a carpenters hall. To address the problems the colonists had with the British. They decided to no obedience to Britain and to ignore the Coercive Acts. They started holding back taxes and prepping military. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
This battle was fought when a group of British soldiers were trying to find a secret storage of weapons. Titled the shot heard around the world. -
The Battle of Bunker Hill
The bloodiest battle in the revolution. Battle of Bunker hill. 1,000 brits killed and 400 colonists killed. -

It was a document asking for independence from britain that everybody could read. -
The second Continental Congress
The Second Continental congress met to create the Continental army and decided that George Washington would lead. -

A document written by Thomas Jefferson declaring independance from Britain. -
Battles of Sratoga
2 battles, at freeman's Farm and Bemis Heights. It not only gave the colonists inspiration, but the French confidence in the American cause. -
The battle of Yorktown
The french gave aid to the colonists. They blocked the british navy and gave the colonists support. The colonists won. -
Treaty of Paris
The ending to the war between America and Britain, and involved Britain giveing all the land in North America to the Colonists.
