  • Treaty of Paris, (The one from 1763)

    Treaty of Paris, (The one from 1763)
    • A treaty between France and Great Britain that stated that France had to give up all its lands in North America and marked the end of the French and Indian War, (also know as the Seven Years' War).
    • Marked the end of the French empire in and beginning of English domination of North America.
    • Planted the seeds of independence in the colonies that would eventually sprout and grow into what would be know as the American Revolution.
  • Royal Proclamation of 1763

    Royal Proclamation of 1763
    • Set boundaries for were the colonists could settle, preventing them from expanding westward.
    • Britain hoped that by restricting the colonists area they could settle , they would be able to keep a better eye on them.
    • The Colonists did not like the proclamation, so they ignored it and settled wherever the heck they wanted.
    -Britain's hands were pretty much tied in getting the colonists to follow the ruling, because it was practically impossible for them to actually enforce it.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    • Taxed the colonial import of sugar and molasses.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    • Taxed any thing that was printed.
    • The Colonists did not like this so they refused to use stamps and stamped paper.
  • Townshend Acts

    Townshend Acts
    • Taxed the colonial imports of glass, paint, paper, and tea.
    • The colonists did not like this so they boycotted British' goods and eventually it led to the British Tea Party.
