The Black Death came to Europe by boat in October, 1347 when 12 Genoese trading ships stopped at the Sicilian Port of Messina after a very long quest through the Black Sea. Then the people who stopped to greet them found most of the ship mates dead or extremely ill. They tried to ban the ships but it was too late, because over the next five years The Black Death would kill 20 million people.

Johannes Gutenberg creates the printing press! This was an amazing invention for books and anything pretty much written. Now they could be made twice as fast and it could be read easier than other peoples handwriting.

Formally known as Desiderius Erasmus Rotterdam. He was a classical scholar that wrote in mostly Latin style. He did not agree with the Reformation but he did not full out rebel like Luther.

Lorenzo de Medici was king of Florence from 1469 to 1478 with his brother Giuliano After the latter's assassination the people stood loyal to him as he ripped out the limbs of the assassin. Lorenzo was known as "the needle on the italian scales. He protected Botticelli and Da Vinci.

His real name being Raffaello Sanzio he was a master painter and architect of the High Renaissance. Rafael is best known for his Madonnas and for his large figure composition in the Vatican. Finally his work is known for its clarity.

First off this painting is huge, the size of it is 15 feet by 29 feet. Also some renovations have taken off a piece of it in 1652 when they needed to make a door. Finally, yes this is one of the most known paintings in the world it is hard to get to and see in real life, because it is in the Convent in Milan, Italy and it would be very hard to move and there is years of waiting to see it in real life.

For 2000 years Europeans believed that earth was the center of the galaxy and all the other planets orbited around us. But then Nicolaus Copernicus proposed the theory that the sun was the center of the galaxy but very few people believed him.

The Mona Lisa was Leonardo Da Vinci's favorite piece, he carried it everywhere he went. Also if you were go to look at it now there are no eyebrows, but they just wore off over time. Finally the Mona Lisa is perfect symmetry. It forms the ancient symbol of the Chalice which is a indirect hint of the mysterious Holy Grail.

The Reformation became right after the Plague. Northern Europe started to disagree with Catholic Church because it was so corrupt. Some people even created Lutheran churches. Then the Church of England splits. Finally the reformation ended into war.
