The first elected assembly had been established. It was called the House of Burgesses.The first Africans arrived at Virginia.They appear to have been indentured servants. Slavery seems to had become prevalent. -
Religion Freedom
Pilgrims left England for religious freedom. Religion effected the government a lot so they wanted to worship their own way and separate themselves. When they landed in Massachusetts they had seen the laws there worked for them. -
Thanksgiving
People celebrated their first Thanksgiving because of all the food in abundance. Thanksgiving was a term for prayer and fasting. -

The Middle Colonies were known as the "bread basket" for producing so much wheat including corn, beef, and pork.
