The U.S. saw Vietnam as another Korea. That when the U.S. stepped in and started getting involved the government send more aid to prevent investment being lost. U.S. politicians believed in the "Domino Theory" once one falls for communism the other follows and the U.S. AK Eisenhower was trying to prevent that.

Eisenhower is worried about the events in Vietnam because it's been going on too long and American soldiers suffered and the heading off draft shall happen. The goals of this conference were to intend to settle outstanding issues resulting from Korea war and Indonesian war.

What President Johnson meant by saying America will still on the course was not to give up until the goal is reach, he thought that it would help in gaining control and power if he keeps the troops in Vietnam but it caused many problems.

Kennedy's plan was to begin to withdrawn American troops from Vietnam in 1965, but was assassinated before this could happen.

President Johnson signed a secret National Security Council "finding" which allowed the U.S. to convert operations against North Vietnam in 1964. The resolution was increasing the U.S. involvement in Vietnam. He lied to Congress and have them signed the resolution by stating that the North Vietnamese attacked our troops.

The consequences of increasing the number of troops that are sent were deadly. 58,000 US soldiers were killed and more than 303,000 wounded; 1.4 million Vietnamese were killed.

The government had to implement the draft because they needed soldiers. The support that the draft have is that some soldiers support it the war but some soldiers thought that it was a death sentence.

The impact of the events have on support of the war was that it reduced the public support of the war they wondered if American soldiers were doing more harm than good. The support for the returning soldiers was kind of low but they wanted to know who was in charge of the massacre so they had to interview all of the soldiers.
