Coal Strike of 1902
United states mine workers went on strike in the coalfields in Pennsylvania. Miners wanted higher wages, shorter wages, and recognition of their union. Creating economical reform by not working and making them do their needs so that they keep working. -
New lands reclamation Act
Federal law that founded irrigation projects for lands of the 20 states. Economical reform, They could make damns to stop water fro running where they could possibly build structures. -
Department of Commerce and Labor
was a short lived cabinet department branch of the United States, concerned with controlling the excessive of big businesses. Creates economical reform by making sure they weren't exploiting other business and people. -
Northern Securities v. united states
Supreme court ruled 5 to 4 against the stock holders of the Great Northern and Northern Pacific rail road companies who formed a monopoly to take down Northern Securities company. Creating Economic Reform so that company's don't dominate each other. -
United states forest Service
Was created to sustain healthy, diverse, and productive forest and grass lands for the future. Social Welfare, this was done to make sure no fires would start and kill people because their homes where made of wood and easy to burn -
Food and drug administration
Series of significant consumer protection laws making that prohibited interstate commerce in adulterated and misbranded food and drugs. This was economic reform by making sure food and medication was in good condition -
Meat inspection Act
Made it a crime to adulterate or misbrand meat and meat products being sold and that they where slaughtered and processed in sanitary condition's. This is economical reform by improving the conditions of slaughter houses because they were so dirty and people would get sick because the meat was so badly token care of. -
Bureau of mines
Conducting scientific research on extraction,Processing, use, of minerals found in mines.Economic reform by doing this they could add currency and improve technology with these minerals found. -
Children's Bureau
Agency was created to help children and there families from mistreatment and from working in factories at a young age. Social welfare because so much child labor was happening in the untied states and kids where killed from their working conditions. -
Keating- Owens Child Labor Act
Addressed child labor by prohibiting the sale of goods with factories who employed kids under the age of 14. Moral Improvement because it got children out these dangerous factories they where working in and saved their lives because lots of them died in the jobs they where working.
