    developing baby has traveled down the fallopian tube and is starting to implant itself in the lining of your uterus.
  • weeks 5-6

    baby's nervous system is developing and the brain & spinal cord are taking shape. The hear, organs, and bones also start to form. The head, trunk, arm & leg buds appear. Eyes and ears begin to form. Baby is 1/6th inch long.
  • weeks 7-8

    Baby is now 1/2 an inch long. lungs, fingers, toes, ears, lips and nose have formed. All major organs are formed.
  • week 10

    The baby's head is 1/2 the size of the baby. All body parts are present. Eyes, ears, arms & legs are identifiable. Baby is 1 1/4 inched long.
  • week 11

    Baby's genitals develop and teeth buds form. The head is about half the length of the baby. Baby is about 2 inches in length and weighs about 1/3 ounce.
  • week 12

    The babies intestines are in the abdomen. Baby's finger nails grow and face is more defined profile. Baby is about 2 1/2 inches in length and weighs about 1/2 ounce.
  • 2nd trimester, week 14

    The babies sex will become apparent. Baby can swallow and make urine. Your baby is about 3 1/2 inches in length & weighs about 1 1/2 ounces.
  • week 16

    Baby is moving but mother cannot feel it. Baby is now 4 1/2 inches in length and weighs about 4 ounces.
  • weeks 18-19

    The baby is now beginning to hear, digestive system works and vernix caseosa covers the beby.
  • weeks 20-21

    weeks 20-21
    All organs and structure is formed. Breathing movements occur but are underdeveloped. Baby has regular sleep and wake patterns and may begin to suck on thumb. Baby is covered in lanugo and is about 6 1/2 inches long.
  • week 22

    Your baby is more active, has nails, fingerprints, eyebrows, lashes, and possibly some hair. You can now hear the baby's heart beat with a stethoscope. Baby is now at the lowest limit of viablity and is about 7 1/2 inches in length & weighs about 1 pound.
  • week 24

    Baby is developing lungs. Has wrinkly, translucent & pinkish red skin. Regular sleep and wake patterns and baby is now 8 inches in length and weighs about 1 1/3 pounds.
  • weeks 28-29

    Your baby's eyes can now partially open and close. Baby has central neruose system and lungs oan worth. Baby is now 10 inches and 2 1/4 pounds.
  • weeks 31-32

    Baby has finished major development and rapid weight gain. lanugo starts to fall off. 11 inches and 3 1/4 pounds.
  • week 34

    The baby is now growing fingernails and toenails. They are developing breathing motion and is beginning to responf to light. Your baby's skin is now pink and smoothe and they are now 12 inches and 4 1/2 pounds.
  • weeks 36-37

    Your baby is now 13 1/2 inches and 6 pounds, taking up most of the amniot sac. The baby starts to turn its head and continues to gain 1/2 a pound a week until delivery.
  • weeks 38-40

    weeks 38-40
    Yourr baby's brain, lungs and liver is still developing. The brain will double in size between weeks 35-39. Lung development in the last few weeks help with fewer complications after birth and weight gain helps with temperature control after birth. On week 39 baby is considered full term.
