Pregnancy Support Plan

  • 1st Trimester Support

    1st Trimester Support
Something I can do to support a pregnant loved one in their first trimester is to monitor their eating habits and maybe prepare a couple healthier meals. As pregnant people cannot have certain foods (like fish) and need more of a certain food group (like protein), I could prepare meals that meet their needs and remind them of what they can and cannot have.
  • Period: to

    First Trimester (0 - 13 weeks)

    Details
-By the end of the first trimester, your baby might be about 2.5 in. (61 mm) long from crown to rump and weigh about .5 oz (14 g).
-Physically, your baby's face is broad, the eyes are widely separated, the eyelids are fused, and the ears are low set. Buds for future teeth also begin to appear. Suggestion
-During a pregnancy, you need to consume extra protein and calcium to meet the needs of the growing fetus, eating Greek yogurt satisfies this need.
  • Important Milestone #1 (4 Weeks)

    Important Milestone #1 (4 Weeks)
Inside of your body, a ball of cells (a blastocyst) has officially become an embryo, which is roughly the size of a poppy seed. In this stage, organ development in the baby begins.
  • Important Milestone #2 (10 Weeks)

    Important Milestone #2 (10 Weeks)
Now, the embryo within your body has officially become a fetus. Organs, like the kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver are beginning to function, and fingernails/toenails are starting to form.
  • Important Milestone #3 (12 Weeks)

    Important Milestone #3 (12 Weeks)
Finally, you’ll likely be able to hear your baby’s heartbeat at a prenatal checkup or during an ultrasound.
  • 2nd Trimester Support

    2nd Trimester Support
During this trimester, pregnant women need lots of water, especially to sustain their baby and maintain the amniotic fluid. Therefore, I could support them by making sure either they or myself have water on me always and by reminding them to drink more water. I could keep water bottles on me at all times, and I could make sure they drank the recommended water amount daily.
  • Period: to

    Second Trimester (14 - 27 weeks)

    Details
-During this trimester, you'll likely feel your baby move around your womb. Within a couple weeks after that, other people should be able to feel baby movements from outside your stomach.
    - Physically, your baby's fingers and toes are well-defined, their eyelids, eyebrows, eyelashes, nails, and hair are formed, and teeth and bones are becoming denser. Suggestion
-It’s important to stay hydrated during this period, meaning 8-10 8oz glasses of water a day.
  • Important Milestone #1 (16 Weeks)

    Important Milestone #1 (16 Weeks)
Now, your baby’s gender might be detectable at a mid-pregnancy ultrasound.
  • Important Milestone #2 (24 Weeks)

    Important Milestone #2 (24 Weeks)
Your baby's taste buds are developing, and both the brain and hair should be growing in pretty quickly. Furthermore, your baby may weigh just over a pound and be up to a foot long.
  • Important Milestone #3 (27 Weeks)

    Important Milestone #3 (27 Weeks)
Though they won’t be functional ubtil a few more weeks, your baby’s lungs are developing quickly. Your baby will begin to inhale and exhale amniotic fluid and will begin sleeping and waking at regular intervals. They’ll also likely begin to open and close their eyes and sucking on their fingers,=.
  • 3rd Trimester Support

    3rd Trimester Support
Physical activity and exercise is of the utmost importance in this trimester. Therefore, in order to provide support, I could set up a couple activities and workouts to do to remain fit and healthy to ensure an easier birth process for my loved one. For example, I could walk around the neighborhood with my pregnant loved one or do yoga/Pilates with them.
  • Period: to

Third Trimester (28 weeks to birth)

    Details
-By this trimester, your baby may begin dreaming, and will have eyelashes and improved eyesight. The baby will also grow fingernails and toenails and may begin to increase in weight (3-4 lbs).
-Also, your baby will start to position itself head-down for its birthing position. Suggestions/Support
-During this time, it is important to try to stay active in order to have an easier labor and delivery and reduce the risk of having a C-section.
  • Important Milestone #1 (34 Weeks)

    Important Milestone #1 (34 Weeks)

    Important Milestone #2 (37 Weeks)
At this point in time, your baby is considered “early term.” Usually, birth won’t take place for a few more weeks to allow the brain and lungs time to mature fully.
