  • Proclamation of 1763

    British banned westward movement because the British could not afford soldiers to protect them from conflicts with the Indians
  • Sugar Act

    The British started to put taxes on sugar and molasses. This tax has already existed but now it is being enforced

    The Stamp Act was one of the first acts to force taxes directly on the colonists. The Stamp Act forced the American colonists to pay taxes on any paper product.

    A group founded by Sam Adams that opposed the British and fought for equal rights
  • Repeal of the Stamp Act

    The British Repealed the Stamp act but in the same day the British passed the Declaratory act which allowed them to tax the colonists as they wished.
  • Townshend Act

    The British decided to create the Townshend act which put taxes on the colonies glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea that was imported to the colonies.

    The British passed a law allowing only the East India company to sell tea to make more money from the colonies

    The East India Company was the only place able to sell tea because the British wanted to make lots of money from the Colonies
  • Intolerable Acts

    The Intolerable acts were passed by the British to punish the Colonies after the Boston tea party. The Intolerable acts closed the Boston Harbor, did not try the British soldiers if they committed a crime in the Colonies and banned town meetings.
  • First Continental Congress

    The First continental congress was the first meeting of the of the colonies delegates but only 12 colonies were present they were meeting so they can prepare for military actions
  • Lexington and Concord

    The British were trying to take the illegal weapons that the American colonists had hidden
  • Second Continental Congress

    A convention for the Colonies Delegates they met together and declared that the Revolutionary war has started.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    The battle on bunker hill was a battle between the British and the Americans this battle was fought until the Americans ran out of ammunition so they had to retreat
