  • The Great Awakening

    A British preacher by the name of Jonathan Edwards stormed through colonies. Making many to become "Born Again" through the vivid descriptions of hell. Edwards gained many followers who declared themselves to be newly converted. Non-clergy people were able to play bigger roles in the religios matters. They would speak of their conversion, and even spread their message. The Great Awakening had a great affect on colonies. By attacking the authority of the official chuch of England.
  • North American Rivalry leads to a 7 year war.

    England and France both claimed the territory along the Ohio River Valley. As the English colonists began to settle, they started to get resistance from not only the French but also from the Indians. Soon after, General Edward Braddock sent soliders into the regions. But the French and the Indians were able drive them back. But this did not discourage Braddock, for soon after he sent the full might of their millitary force.
  • Stamp Act congress

    Taxation without Representation, is one of the few things to anger local colonists. Trials without any sort of Jury is another thing that angered them. The colonists were not happy with "The Stamp Act" and "The Writs Of Customs".The Writs Of Customs stated that Officials had the power to enter private homes of colonists with out suspicion.   • Boston Massacre

    During the protests about outrages Stamp Act, a band of angered unemployed laborors attacked the guards of Boston costoms house.They began to throw oyster shells at the solders. Then snowballs. In the scuffle, soon followed a gunshot. then five of the rioters were killed. The bfirst killed was a Black man named Crispus Attucks, a man who had fled slavery in order to become a sailor.
  • Boston Tea Acts

    As a result from the Boston Massacre, The Government repealed the Townshend taxes on all items except for tea. Fortunitly, this was able to calm many of the colonists.
