    The French and Indian War
    The French and Indian war was a war between the British and the Indians. The war consisted of battles between the two powers but the French had a little help from native Americans. The British won the war and thus claimed the Ohio river valley to be their territory
  • The treaty of Paris

    The treaty of Paris
    The Treaty of Paris ended the French and Indian war with a British victory. It granted Britain Quebec and parts of Canada and also gave the British the Ohio river valley. Britain would later tax the american colonies for the war.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    This proclamation was made so that the colonists wouldn't settle west of the Appalachian mountains. They put this proclamation into place for the American Indians, just so they won't fight the colonists. But the colonists are angry with this and they do it anyway.

    The British Taxed sugar and prevented the colonists from buying sugar from other places except Britain. The colonists still smuggled molasses in the colonies from other places because it was cheaper.

    This act called the stamp act effected everyone and their mother because this was all paper products. The colonists reacted with taring and feathering the tax collectors. The sons of liberty harassed the tax collectors and made them quit their job.

    The repeal of the stamp act was a blessing for the colonists. But as soon at they repealed the stamp act they made the declaratory acts that says that Parliament as control over the colonists

    The Boston Massacre was a tragic event in the colonies. But it fueled the fire with gasoline because the colonists used this as propaganda. Five colonists were killed in the Boston Massacre. The British were defended in court by John Adams.

    The Tea act was put in by Parliament to tax tea for the colonists. The colonists hated this act because they had to purchase tea from Britain to drink tea. This didn't stop the Colonists from smuggling tea in though. This act caused the Boston Tea Party, one of the most infamous actions of the colonists.

    The Boston tea party happened because Britain ignored the colonists demands on the tax of tea and they continued the tax on tea. The colonists took action and rebelled toward Britain and dumped $18,000 of tea in to the water of Boston.

    The Intolerable acts were put in place because of the Boston Tea Party. These acts Shut down the Boston harbor, placed British soldiers in Boston by martial law.
  • First Continental congress

    The First Continental Congress was the first time the colonies are acting as one and are uniting towards Britain. This consisted of delegates from all thirteen colonies. This was the reaction the colonists toward the intolerable acts and they were drafting the first of the deceleration of Independence's.
  • Second Continental congress

    Second Continental congress
    the second continental congress was the second gathering of the delegates of the colonies. This was the government for most of the revolutionary war. George Washington was there and he was the general of the army in the revolutionary war. Here they made the deceleration of Independence.
