  • Period: 1200 BCE to 400 BCE

    Middle Preclassical

    It started the High Olmec Culture, it took the places between Tabasco and Veracruz. Social stratification was a principal characteristic in Middle Preclassical.
  • Period: 1200 BCE to 200

    Olmecs

    They are considered the mother of all the Mesoamerican cultures, they did ceramic figures (the big heads was one of them) and where popular on their time (also now).
  • Period: 500 BCE to 900

    Zapotec

    They used to have a sedentary life. They also used to have a pantheon of gods, the most important of them was" Cocijo" ,he was the god of the rain. The had a development in mathematics and archicterture. They stablished on tree of the main valleys

    Changes of language/tongues, it surges the distribution of work, the religion came more clear

    They were one of the most important civilizations in America. Their economy was based on the agriculture. And they made big pyramids. they had calendars

    Its also known as the fourth period of the American pre-history. The civilizations that were "born" in this period are Mayas, Zapotec and Teotihuacan.

    There most important pyramids were of the Moon and Sun, so as the Temple of Quetzacoatl. one of their costumes were painting walls because it make like a mural painting of religious thematic.

    Toltecs

    Their economy was the agriculture, and they worked with m metal and rocks.They made sacrifices to their gods. Their fall Marc the beginning of the Aztecs era.

    Mixtec

    Their economy was based in ranching. Their writing was based on symbols(also known as pictography). The ofrend were humans and animals, most the birds.

    The Mixtec culture was guide by the great lord, followed by administrative then by the peasants. We call the "Aztec Calendar" because the used the math.
