Pre and Post World War II

  • Adolf Hitler's 25 Point Programme annouced

    Hitler had proposed a total of 25 points which outlined the desires he and his Nazi's party had. They also had laws in them and outlined Hitler's demands for Germany.
  • Benito Mussolini into office

    Through much time Mussolini eventually reached office, and assumed the role of Dictator in Italy. He brought forth the Facisist type government and over time was despised by his people.
  • Stalin's Five Year Plan

    This was a plan set by the new Soviet leader Stalin. The plan was to advance there economy, technology, and government over a course of five years.
  • Great Depression Begins

    The world had become and economic rut, the U.S., Europe, and Russia. They were all heavy in debt and there leaders had become weak which gave rise to a new generations of strong leaders demanding better conditions.
  • Adolf Hitler is inducted as Chancellor of Germany

    President Paul von Hindenburg inducted Hitler into the office as Chancellor of Germany. Hitler quickly rid of possible competetion with the expansion of the Gestapo he could easily rid of political enemies.
  • FDR is inducted into presidency

    Franklin D. Roosevelt comes into office promising change in the wounded United States. He did as promised and changed the United States for the better with plans like the New Deal to fix our economy.
  • Adolf Hitler becomes Furher of Germany

    Adolf Hitler takes control of the government and begins his totalitarian rule as the Furher of Germany. He had now complete control of the country and could rule as he saw fit.
  • Konrod Zuse invents the computer

    Konrod created the first model programmable computer, know as turning complete- Z3.
  • Kristallnacht

    The "Night of Broken Glass" was a night were Nazi's German police destroying any Jewish owned building and thus many windows were broken covering Germany in the glass of broken Jews.
  • FDR signs Lend-Lease Act

    This act allowed for the president (With premission from Congress) to lend defense to a country. The president could send troops to a country he deemed important in defending for the defense of the United States.
  • Battle of Midway

    A big turning point in the Pacific Wars where the United States had began to gain the edge in the war between them and Japan. They had successfully gained control of the Pacific and destroyed hundreds of Japanese carrier planes.
  • Warsaw Ghetto Uprising begins

    To avoid deportation from the Ghettos Jews formed a resistance of about 200 members to stand against the Nazi's. They had to because deporations meant being sent to the camps.
  • Mussolini Resigns From Office

    Mussolini resigns from the leadership of Faciscist Italy, some people figured it was because Mussolini had become ill. Others believed that Mussolini realized he had run Italy into the ground and resigned before he could be blamed.
  • D-Day

    The plan to take back Normandy, France and eventually move through to Europe. This plan went well and it gave the Allies foot holding in Normandy.
  • Anne Frank and her family are found and arrested

    Anne Frank was a young Jewish girl who hid out in an family friends attic from the Germans. She wrote a diary about her experience. Then she was caught and they were all arrested.
  • Franklin D. Roosevelt Dies

    Franklin D. Roosevelt 32 president of the U.S. suffered a massive stroke and he had died. The president for 12 years had died, this was a big deal at the time as he had lead U.S. through the Great Depression and World War II.
  • Adolf Hitler commits suicide

    After Germany had been invaded and their fate was clear Adolf Hitler had decided to commit suicide in his bunker. Him and his wife and a few officials all took pills in order to kill themselves.
  • Germany signs an uncoditional surrender

    Nazi German officials sign a unconditional surrender, ending any involvement of Nazi Germany in the war, Surrender was signed at Reims, France.
  • Potsdam Conference Begins

    The Potsdam Conference was the gathering of the Big Three which were leaders Stalin, Churchill, and Truman. They discussed post war topics like dividing Germany amongst themselves.
  • Hiroshima and Nagsaki

    These two cities in Japan were the site of one and only nuclear bomb drop for war purposes. The decision was made by Truman and it caused Japan to surrender to the United States,
