Stanley arrives at Camp Green Lake, he meets Mr. Sir and Mr. Pendanski and is assigned to D Tent. He meets X-Ray, Zero, and the other boys from D Tent.
Every day, Stanley and the other boys have to dig holes
Stanley slowly becomes friends with Zero and teaches this unlikely friend how to read.
When Zero runs away from camp after a pretty violent fight, Stanley follows him into the desert. And if that weren't heroic enough, he then carries his friend up a mountain to safety.
