Why they left England.
The Pilgrims left England so they could find a place where they can practice their religion freely. The Pilgrims were a group of separatists. England's teachings of religion didn't feel right to the Pilgrims, so they practiced their own religion. Leaving England
100 men, women,& children left for the new world. They boarded a ship called " The Mayflower ". The left Southampton August 5, 1620. -

Many people aboard the Mayflower died,& one baby was born. -
The alliance
The pilgrims & the Indians formed an alliance. During Thanksgiving, They both sat down during the feast. The most well known Indian was Squanto. -
Mayflower Compact
The Mayflower Compact was written on November 20, 1620 by William Bradford. The Mayflower compact was the first written government for Plymouth. -
Landing
They anchored at Plymouth Rock. Explorer John Smith had named the place Plymouth. -
The First Winter
Many people did not survive the first winter. -
Decline
Fur trade helped the colony Boom. After a couple months , the fur trade disappeared. The colony began to decline. It became a ghost town by the mid 1640's .
