    Election of Theodore Roosevelt
    Theodore Roosevelt was elected in 1900. He was highly liked by most people because he was for the people and not the big business. He helped shorten the work week and raise wages. He also passed the pure food and drug act which helped with food standards and what can and cant be added because people were adding dangerous chemicals and leaving it to rot because there were no regulations. This act also helped with drugs and what can and can't be prescribed.

    In the Election of 1912 the main candidates were Theodore Roosevelt (Progressive Party), William Taft (Republican Party) and Woodrow Wilson (Democratic Party). This election had 3 main candidates because Theodore Roosevelt didn't like his successor William Taft so he ran against him. Because he did this it split the republican party because some of them went to Roosevelt's party The Progressive Party.   • Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand

    Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand
    During the 28th of June in the year 1914 Archduke Franz Ferdinand was hot and killed in Sarajevo, Bosnia by an assassin. As well as killing the Archduke they killed his wife Sophie. It was orchestrated by the Germans to get help start a war. This assassination helped to start up World War 1.

    The Election of 1916
    In this election Woodrow Wilson was running again for his 2nd Term in Office. Charles Evan Hughes was running against him. He was the former New York governor and a Supreme Court justice. Wilson was running with the slogan "He kept us out of war.". The election ended up being very close. Wilson was reelected for his 2nd term and to be the 33rd President of the United States.
  • Armistice Day

    Armistice Day
    On November 11th, 1918 at 11:00 a.m. all the fighting stopped. That day Germany signed an agreement to stop the fighting also known as an armistice. This was very special and even became a national holiday in the U.S. It marked the end of a World War. The United States alone lost more than 115,000 troops and over 8 million worldwide. This day is now known as Veterans Day though to honor all veterans.
  • Paris Peace Conference

    Paris Peace Conference
    This conference was held after the war to create and set a treaty in place after World War 1. Only people who had won the war were invited though so David Lloyd George, Vittorio Orlando, Georges Clemencuau and Woodrow Wilson were the only ones there. They made a treaty stating that Germany would give up land, give up resources, pay reparations to Britain and France and allow foreign troops to stay in their land. They also added in the formation of The League of Nations.
