US intelligence decodes a message about a deadline in Japan’s plans, but doesn’t send this message to Pearl Harbor. The message arrives after the attack started. At 7:55, Hawaiian time, Japan’s attack starts. The attack continues for 2 hours and 20 minutes. More than 3,600 Americans are dead or wounded. 18 ships were sunk or damaged and more than 300 aircrafts were damaged or destroyed. -

After being relieved off of command for having he responsibility of the attack, Kimmel and Short are found to be acting professionally and competently during and before the bombing of Pearl Harbor which makes them put in the highest WWII rank.
