Why I Love PBC
This is a picture of me in front of my house. I love the house that I live in because of the beautiful environment and location in Palm Beach. I moved into this house on April 21,2014. (selfie) -
Historical Building Downtown
This is a picture of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, which was constructed and established in 1904. It is the oldest existing church building in Delray Beach City. It is located on the Trinity Lutheran School campus, where I attended elementary school. -
Beach
This is a beautiful picture of one of Palm Beach County's beaches in Delray Beach. PBC, as well as Florida itself, is known for its beaches. They are a major tourist attraction and great for residents too. (selfie) -
Local Government Building
This is a picture of tme in front of he courthouse in Delray Beach. It is called the South County Courthouse, where cases are brought to be tested. My youngest siblings were even adopted here with the judge. (selfie) -
Political Boundary
This is a picture of me in front of a sign that reads "Delray Beach City Limits". This is the political boundary between the cities of Boynton Beach and Delray Beach. (selfie) -
Agricultural Land Use
This is a picture of a field on Boynton Beach Blvd. This field is a home for many cows. They are taken care of and raised as livestock here. -
Military Presence
This is a picture of the Palm Beach Air Force Base located west of West Palm Beach. It's purpose was for air transport during major missions and use as a training base. However, it closed down in 1962. -
Stadium
This is a picture of the Roger Dean Stadium loctaed in Abacoa in Jupiter. It was built in 1998, so it is fairly new. It is a baseball stadium and can hold about 6,871 people. -
Concert Hall
This is a picture of the Kravis Center in downtown West Palm Beach. It was funded by Raymond F. Kravis and opened in 1992. It is a performing arts center, where more than 1,400 events are held each year. Also, more than 500,000 guests attend every year. -
Historical Event
Henry Flagler founded the city of West Palm Beach on March 22, 1894. He built a railroad, Florida East Coast Railway, that eventually lead him there and it also helped lead many businesses there to esablish Palm Beach. This is a picture of Flagler's railroad. -
Ethnic Grocery Store
This is a picture of me in front of the Haitian Super Market. It is located on Lake Ida Road in Delray Beach. This market provides food for the Haitian community and service to communicate with people where they are from. (selfie) -
Religion #1
This is a picture of me in front of my church, Calvary Chapel Boca Raton. It is a nondenominational Christian church located in Boca. I go there every Sunday with my family to worship and read from the Bible. (selfie) -
Religion #2
This is a picture of me in front of a Mormon church called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This is where the Mormons come to worship. It was founded by Joseph Smith in 1830. (selfie) -

PBC's Situation
This is a picture of me in Downtown Delray. The definition of situation is the location of a place relative to other places. Basically, Palm Beach County is located right off of Florida's beaches. (selfie) -
Urban Infrastructure
This picture is showing tri-rail, which is a form of transportation throughout PBC and two other counties. This is an example of infrastructure because it is a form of transportation that is needed for the functioning of our communtity. It helps people get to school and anywhere they need. (selfie) -
Placelessness
This picture is showing a few houses in the neighborhood, Bexley Park. This could be an example of placelessness because nothing is unique or different. All of the houses/apartments look the same. (selfie) -
Land Use in the CBD
The central business district of Palm Beach County would probably be West Palm Beach. The picture shows how residents and businesses are spread out around this area. -
Gentrification
City place used to be a rundown town with not very many people. Recently, it has been made into this beautiful place with many shops, resturants, and even a movie theater. Lots of people come here to hang out and walk around and it has become very popular. -
Ghettoization
This is an example of ghettoization because it is showing the slums, or more rundown ares, of Palm Beach County. This picture was taken out in Belle Glade. -
Commercialization
This is a picture of Rapids Water Park located in Riviera Beach. Rapids is a tourist attraction for PBC because it attracts people there and makes a lot of money. It has many rides such as Big Thunder, Rapids Racer, Pirate's Plunge, etc. -
Urban Sprawl
Over time West Palm Beach has had its residents and businesses and communities sprawl out away from the downtown area. It causes West Palm to be more covered in buildings over a larger area. -
Gated Community
This is a picture in front of my neighborhood, Delray Dunes. It is a gated community, as you can see, and protects the residents from dangerous or unwanted visitors. Only the people living here and their guests may be allowed past the gate. (selfie) -
Zoning Regulations
This is a sign that is showing a new zoning regulation on the land. It says that the land was once allowed for building homes but it is now being zoned for conservation, which means it is a protected area that cannot be built on. -
Functional Zonation
This is a picture of me in front of an area that is about to be under construction. Every location owned by the government has to be zoned for something. This lot is now zoned for residence. (selfie) -
McMansion
This is a picture of a mcmansion in the neighborhood, Montreaux. It is considered a mcmansion because of its large size on a very small lot. Also, all of the houses are very close together and look very similar. (selfie)
