By the end of 1941, Japan's aggressiveness led to war with the United States. After Japan entered French Indochina The U.S. government issued a protest.

    Theodore Roosevelt signed executive order 9066. 120,000 Japanese Americans were put into internment camps. None of these people showed disloyalty to the nation.

    China was asking America for aid in battle. America agreed and made the American volenteer group (AVG) or Flying tigers.They won a string of victories over bigger japanese groups.

    It was the most decorated American naval ship of the war. It has been in many battles and has 20 battle stars.It had many uses after the attack on Pearl harbor too.
  • Death at Bataan

    Death at Bataan
    Japanese forces defeated a U.S. and Filipino army in the battle of Bataan. They forced 70,000 captured soldiers to march more than 60 miles north to a captured U.S. Army base. Anyone who fell or complained was executed.

    Japan gained supremacy in the air with it's "Zero" fighter planes after pearl harbor. After this Japan came up with a squad of kamikaze pilots. They came up with the Kamikaze because the U.S. made better planes with their knowledge of the Zero fighter.

    Japan and the United States waged the largest naval battle of World War two and one of the largest in history. It was fought for the control of the Philippine Islands in the South Pacific. Japan lost due to flawed decision-making and miscommunication.

    30,000 marines assualted Iwo Jima. This battle caused the most casualities in WWII. A group of marines rose an American flag over mount Suribachi.
  • Atomic Bomb

    The U.S. dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This bombing killed more than 100,000 people and exposeing tens of thousands more to deadly radiation. This made Japan surrender.
