  • Krawkow is the new German seat

    The Nazis establish Krakow as the seat of their General Government of occupied Poland. Hans Frank, Hitler's lawyer, is designated Reichsfuehrer of Nazi-occupied Poland. He orders the "voluntary" departure of all but "work-essential" Jews from Krakow.
  • Schindler's factory opens

    Schindler opens his enamelware factory, "Emalia" n Krawkow, Poland
  • Schindler accepts Jewish workers

    After Hans Frank orders for all but work-essential Jews to depart Krawkow "voluntarily", there is a mad scramble among the Jews to find essential jobs. Schindler accepts 150 Jews to work at his factory.

    Schindler goes to the Krawkow train station and is able to rescue his office manager, Abraham Bankier, and other Jewish employees that work at his factory

    By this time, seven thousand Jews from the Krawkow ghetto are deported to the Belzec concentration camp.
  • Final Liquidation of Krawkow Ghetto

    Nazi's order the final liquidation of the Krawkow ghetto. Under the command of young SS (the elite armed Nazi unit) officer named Amon Goeth, Jews who were healthy and could work went to the nearby concentration camp, Plasow ; the rest were sent to death camps or execueted on the spot.
  • Schindlers Emalia Camp established

    Schindler convinces Amon Goeth to let him establish a labor sub-camp within his factory after Goeth propses that all factory owners relocate their factories into the Plasow concentration camp nearby.
  • Schindler's factory dismantled

    The main camp, Plaszow, is closed and Schindler's sub camp is to be dismantled. All the Jews under Schindler's care in the sub-camp are also sent away to different camps in Poland and Austria

    In the fall of 1944, Oskar Schindler begins the process of moving his factory to the town of Brunnlitz, Czechoslovakia. The names of those on his list will be sent to his new factory. It contains eleven hundred names including all of the employees at the sub camp and other Jews as well.

    Shortly after Plaszow is liquidated, the people on Schindler's list arrive. About 800 mean are shipped in boxcars and 300 women and children are mistakenly shipped to Aushwitz (a death camp). They are immediatley sent to their original detination in the morning after the intervention of Schindler.

    When the news is heard in the factory, Schindler gathers all the workers to tell them that they are free and to go in peace and to not seek revenge. He and his wife then flee west to avoid Russian troops advancing from the east.

    Oskar Schindler is officially declared a "Righteous Gentile" and is invited to plant a tree on the Avenue of the Righteous leading up to Jerusalem's Yad Vashem Museum (a memorial to the Holocaust).

    As a result of heart and liver problems Schindler dies. He is buried in a Catholic cemetery on Mount Zion in Jerusalem, upon his request to be laid to rest in Jerusalem. Around 500 schindlerjuden attend his funeral
