Preparation for the Operation
The US, a year before, got attackewd in pearl Harbor and they needed a way to get in the war in Europe and Russia was asking the Allies to open up another front. Most of the soldiers and the ones that fought in the pacific were getting ready. Operation Torch would be the perfect operation to open a new front. Operation Torch would also be the first time the US and Brittish soldiers fight together. -
Vichy France misunderstanding
The Allies wanted to control Morocco and Algeria becasue they knew that the Vichy government was working with the Axix. The US tried to make contact with the French in North Africa so they don't engage the Allies. Because of German ocupation and past events some french did so. This provoqued big confrontations -
Allie Landing in African terrritory
In order to spread out and take control faster, the Allies invaded three different beaches in North Africa with their main targets being Casablanca, Oran, and Algiers. This would serve as the rough draft for Operation Overlord. A lot of the mistakes that were made in Operation Torch was fixed for this Day. -
British-American invasion
In order to relieve pressure from the Axis forces, the Allied forces invaded North Africa with 124,000 British and American soldiers. They landed in Casablanca (Morocco), Oran and Algiers (Argelia) . This will be an well-planned attack like the one in Operation Overlord and it will supose be a big problem for the Vichy Goverment. -
First fights between Vichy Frenches and Americans
There were about 60.000 Vichy French troops in Morocco with a small naval fleet at Casablanca. The Vichy enfgaged the Allies and a confrontation caused some unexpected problems like a destruction of a US transport with 200 men. -

Oran surrounding
Another big and dangerous attack was ordered for the conquest of Oran with 18,500 soliders. After a long and strong fire from both sides. Thanks to the heavy fire that the British made, the Vichy Frenches achieved to surround all Oran -
Casablanca surrounding
The Allies invaded Casablanca thanks to their strong air support. This attacks also helped the Frenches realise how big and strong the air British floot. Some confusion during the landing gave the Frenches time to organize themselves but finally the French surroinding took place only one hour later. The city was taken over two days after landing (it wasn't a difficult challange for the Allies). -

French Admiral Jean Darlan commands to cease fire just after the French president, Eisenhower, promises him that he will remain in power after the invasion -
What happened after all this?
The Allies continued to control North Africa and eveng manage to conquer more territory and advance trought South. They did this because that way they could help the Russians.
Comandant Durlan (French Admiral) was murdered in december of the same year
Germans continued trying to invade the British territory and they managed to it, but that's another story... -
Ending
When Durlan got more power inside the Vichy France, most of the people turnt to the Allie side or joined Hitler's side
