    Taxes placed on printed materials in the colonies. Started a boycott and protest.

    Colonists were forced to house an d feed the British soldiers.

    Imported goods were taxed.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Son of Liberty dressed as Mohawk Indians and raided ships. Dumped tea in Boston Harbor.
  • Tea Act

    Britain wouldn't let anyone other than the East India Tea Company imported tea tot he colonists.

    Monarch of England; Led British army through French & Indian War to gain land for Britain. Suffered loss of control of colonists.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Britain punished the colonists for the Tea Act protest, so they stopped trade between Boston and Britain. Britain gained control over their government and closed the harbor. This made the colonists furious.
  • First Continental Congress

    Representatives from all 13 colonies except GA met and wrote King George III a letter to stop taxing them and repeal the Intolerable Acts. The king sent more soldiers to fight to keep them under control. Colonists stopped trading with Britain and started training for a rebellion.
