  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    The British were led by Hugh Percy, 2nd Duke of Northumberland and the Colonists were led by George Washington. The victory of the colonists showed the British just how tough of a fight the war is going to be. Colonists proved to want freedom more than the British thought.
  • Fort Ticonderoga

    Fort Ticonderoga
    The man who led the British was William Delaplace and the men who led the Colonists was Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold. Another victory for the Colonists proved that the British needed to step things up, the Colonsits looted the British after the battle and acquired more supplies.
  • Bunker Hill

    Bunker Hill
    The British were led General William Howe and Colonists were led by General William Prescott. The British were pushed back twice before the Colonists became low on ammo and the British fired again defeating the Colonists. The Colonists left with fewer casualties and their moral was built up continuing to fight.
  • Trenton/Princeton

    Trenton/Princeton
    The British were led by General Conrwallis and the Colonists were led by George Washington. Washington and his men sailed across the icy water to defeat the Hessians and capture Trenton and returned the next week to capture Princeton. This improved morale of the colonies and gave the colonists control of New Jersey once again.
  • Saratoga

    Saratoga
    the British General John Burgoyne was overconfident that he was going to take Saratoga but the Colonists answered with General George Washington sending Benedict Arnold, his best infantry commander, Colonel Daniel Morga. The British didn't listen when after they won their first battle to stand down and wait for back up, so the Colonists came and shut them down forcing the British to retreat and regaining another area. This victory proved that the Colonists weren't giving up.
  • Seige of Charleston

    Seige of Charleston
    The British were led by Sir Hentry Clinton and the Colonists were led by Benjamin Lincoln. The British took over Savannah and were continuing to march and they conquered Charleston too. The Colonists surrended and lost 4,650 men to the British and it was a great loss for many supplies. This battle gave the British nearly all control of the Southern colonies.
  • King's Mountain

    King's Mountain
    General Cornwallis led the British to gather recruits to join the army and defeat the Colonists while on his way to Virginia and the southern colonies. But Ethan Allen and the Mountain Men wouldn't let that happen. They intercepted the British along with their forces from North and South Carolina and defeated them. This proved another victorious battle for the Colonists and that the southern colonists would not side with the British.
  • Yorktown

    Yorktown
    General George Washington was in charge of the Colonists that were out to destroy Cornwallis and his British army for good. The French had deceived British General Clinton into thinking that the Colonists would also go to the wrong way. That way they were defeated and now that the French and American Colonists were allies they out numbered the British in Yorktown 2 to 1 and defeated them. This surrender and defeat of the British ended the Revolutionary War.
