The Off-side Rule Is Introduced And Forward Passing Is Allowed
In 1929-1930 the NHL wanted to increase the amount of goals scored so they changed the rules to permit forward passing which did the job as goals for doubled throughout the first half of the year. This caused them to change the off-side rule to make it so that players could not enter the zone before the puck. Both rules are critical and still existent today. -
