  • Emergency Banking Relief Act

    Emergency Banking Relief Act

    This act was made to help repair the troubled banks in the US. It also added to the authority that the presidential party has over banks. This was a relief effort and this was apart of the First New Deal.
  • Glass-Steagall Act

    Glass-Steagall Act

    This act separated the types of banking into commercial banking and investment banking. This act also created the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. This is a reform act. This was apart of the First New Deal.
  • The National Industrial Recovery Act

    The National Industrial Recovery Act

    A two prong effect to stimulate economic recovery. Title one of the act declares fair competition for basic industries. Title two of the act crated a public works program. This is a recover effort and apart of the First New Deal.
  • Gold Reserve Act

    Gold Reserve Act

    Wanted to protect the US currency system and to stop the free use of gold as payment. This is apart of the First New Deal and is a reform effort.
  • Duck Stamp Act

    Duck Stamp Act

    Raised funds for the acquisition of marginal farm and ranch land for federal wildlife refuges. This also estabablished more refugees as time went on. This was a recovery effort and apart of the First New Deal.
  • Works Progress Administration

    Works Progress Administration

    Was made to make work for those affect by the great depression. This was to preserve the people's skills and trades. The is a recovery effort and apart of the Second New Deal.
  • Wagner Act

    Wagner Act

    This act established the legal right for workers to join labor unions. With this law the employees are able to bargain with their employers.
  • National Labor Relations Board

    National Labor Relations Board

    This board decided, when petitioned by employees, was an appropriate bargaining unit of employees exists for collective bargaining.They also determined by secret-ballot elections (conducted by the NLRB) whether the employees in a business or industry wish to be represented by labour unions. Lastly they prevented or correct unfair labour practices by employers and unions. This was a reform effort and apart of the Second New Deal.
  • Social Security Act

    Social Security Act

    Established a permanent national old-age pension system through employer and employee contributions. It later included people with disabilities and other groups. This was a reform effort and apart of the Second New Deal.
  • United Auto Workers Strike

    United Auto Workers Strike

    The workers were on strike for 44 days because the workers were tired of the terrible conditions and long hours. The companies hired thugs and police officers to harass the workers on strike into coming back to work.
