  • Emergency Banking Relief Act (EBRA)

    Emergency Banking Relief Act (EBRA)
    The Emergency Banking Relief Act (EBRA) was passed in 1933 and never officially ended. The Act allowed the president to take bankrupt banks, direct the Federal Reserve to make unsecured loans to them and reopen when he wanted. This helped with the Great Depression because the banks were failing and this helped the banks to get back on their feet.
  • Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC)

    Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC)
    The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was made by the Emergency Conservation Work Act. The program started in 1933 and ended in 1942. This program was used to promote taking care of the Earth and to provide jobs for youth so they would stay off the streets. The CCC accomplished planting 3 billion trees in 10 years. This helped with the Great Depression so it was less likely to have another Dust Bowl. In the end almost 3 million people joined the Civilian Conservation Corps.

    The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) was made in 1933 by the congressional charter and is still going on today. The Tennessee Valley Authority was made to provide navigation, flood control, electricity generation, fertilizer manufacturing, and economic development to the Tennessee Valley. It helped with the Great Depression by making affordable electricity. This was made by the Tennessee Valley Authority Act.

    The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) was made in 1934 and is still going on today. The Administration's job in the Great Depression was to insure loans for building and repairing homes. This Administration was made by the National Housing Act of 1934.

    The National Youth Administation (NYA) was made from the Emergency Relief Act. The program started in 1935 and ended in 1939. At first, the National Youth Administration was used to provide part-time jobs to young children but, then the focus was focused more on training youth for war jobs instead.The NYA helped the Great Depression by also providing work and education for youth.

The Administration provided a pension for retired workers and their spouses and aided people with disabilities. This helped in the Great Depression because people were in debt and it was good that some retired people got bonuses.

    The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) was made in 1938 and is still going on today. It was made by passing the Securities Act of 1933. This Commission was made to regulate the stocks, bonds, and other securities. This helped with the Great Depression because the stock market crashed and this helped to regulate and help what had crashed.

    The Fair Labor Standards Act was made in 1938 and is still used today. The Act was made to establish a hourly wage and a maximum number of hours in a workweek. This helped with the Great Depression because many people went on strike because they felt they were treated unfair and this Act helped a lot with these problems.
